Monthly Meetings

Williamsburg meetings are held on the last Thursday of the month (except July, August AND December).

Meetings are held at the library of the Greenwood Christian Academy, 5251-37 John Tyler Highway (in the Williamsburg Crossing Shopping Center), Williamsburg, VA. Click here for directions.

Parenting a Child on the Spectrum: Strategies and Ideas

You must make a reservation by Tuesday, January 24, 2012 through Fran Pinizzotto at fran@peninsulaautism.org. For safety reasons, no children can be accommodated without a reservation, and no children are permitted in the meeting room. If for any reason you make a reservation but cannot make it to the meeting, please be courteous and let us know.

Debra Daily has her Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education, and a second Master's Degree in Administration and Supervision. She has been a special educator for almost 28 years, having taught middle and high school students with emotional disturbances and learning disabilities. She has a strong background in behavior management, and taught for many years in the WJCC School Division, working with preschoolers in the Bright Beginnings program. Debra has served as the Behavior Specialist for the Bright Beginnings program in WJCC for the past four years.

Lindsay Purse has worked for the past six years in the WJCC Public Schools. She is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist who provides direct intervention, evaluation, and consultation services to students from PreK through high school. Her work with students on the autism spectrum at the elementary level often involves social skill instruction in small groups, as well as consultation with teachers, parents, and IEP teams.

Claudia Knapp is a PreK teacher in the WJCC School Division. Parents love her for her calm demeanor, keen insight, wonderful way with their children, as well as for her crazy sense of humor. Kids love her because she dances a mean "Peanut Butter and Jelly" song!
